Team Ansbach!!!

Here's the Ansbach team. In the first picture are Derrick and Trude. Trude is my point of contact and the brains behind our time together -- she's the one who designed the Ansbach day and created the canvas banner welcome! Derrick's role is to be the liason on the installation between the military and the schools & children. Together they make for an amazing collaboration! Having Derrick along made for a tremendously insightful and educational day for me. He and Allen could talk turkey regarding so many details military. I learned so very much from having Derrick as a sounding board for my hundreds of questions.

The middle pictures are children who attended the morning concert series. Two were being provided childcare in a home setting and the third is the grand-daughter of the post's chaplain, who happened to be visiting at the time.

That last picture is the elementary school principal. It is a rare (and simply brilliant) principal who makes the time to welcome a guest into their building, even one being accompanied by two base personelle. Not only did she welcome me into her territory, but she made it a point to pop into each of the morning concerts for an introduction and setting the tone of her expectations. Three cheers especially, because the very same morning she was hosting all of the German principals in her building!! In fact the principal from the Hohenfels school popped into wave and give me a two thumbs up greeting. Pretty fantastic, indeed!!
