DECORATED CLASSROOM DOORS!
S-U-C-C-E-S-S!
So what's YOUR favorite APP?
I know how you guys like to see decorated doors and their adjacent bulletin boards!
My article from a couple of years ago, featuring classroom doors, is STILL #1 around here.
Somehow it got into Google searches and Pinterest when times were good.
How I wish Google could grab hold of a few more of my efforts around here.
Thought I'd pull together LOTS of decorated doors,
so you don't have to go digging around.
Let's start with some winter ones!
CLASSROOM DOORS DECORATED FOR WINTER!
WELCOME! I am just back to Florida from three different school visits across Texas.
I have really been making the rounds wearing my "Author-Illustrator" hat and sharing my picture books with early elementary students. Oh happy day!
As I travel I take as many pictures as time allows. I can see from my archives that the number one article ever referenced here shared a LOT of decorated classroom doors..... so I am ALWAYS on the prowl to find more of those for you my devoted readers! Today I have a treasure trove of goodies! Kennedy-Powell Elementary goes ALL out when it comes to decorated doors! Thanks to Crystal of "Kreative in Kinder" for hosting my author adventure! Here's her recap of our wild times together!
I wanted to be certain that you could read the subtitle for this door,
so here's a close up of "SNOW MUCH FUN!"
With this latest fascination with all things "Moustache" this next door is up to the minute!
Can you see the student photos have been adorned with 'staches?
CUTE ALERT!
Planets and space-themed are ALWAYS in style!
Combining planets into a snowman?
CLEVER!
Extra-credit points for getting the students INVOLVED!
Here are a few additional glimpses around the hallways.
We're moving beyond decorated doors to seasonal bulletin boards.
These next two are topic specific.
Having 'MUSIC' detail the learning areas is a Win/WIN!!
I will be certain to pin this image to my "Music Makers" pinboard.
Music people will appreciate this earlier image.
Here's an idea for all of the librarians who read along.............
I also have a pinboard for "Going to the Library"
which, BTW that is my FREEBIE download at Teachers Pay Teachers.
The zipped file you will receive has my song, "Going to the Library" in Mp3 format.
There is a set of power point slides for the lyrics.
I'd be so grateful if you'd leave some comment LUV.
Just in time for a Valentine's Day lesson on quotation marks and conversations!
Look at this Valentine's Day Bulletin Board!
Here's a couple of peeks from me in the midst of my author presentation.
Thanks again to Crystal for the photos!
And here's the two of us together, fellow presenters at SDE!
She's holding my picture book collection!
Also from the 'oldies-but-goodies' department.
How can you go wrong with a bulletin board for Common Core!
I made a 'square' image for my friends on Instagram. Are you following me there? I am enjoying that format of social networking -- more so, by the day! I'm getting close to a thousand followers and you know how we like round numbers in cyber-ville!
I host a collaborative PINBOARD on all things related to Bulletin Boards & Decorated Classroom Doors.
There are 123 collaborating teachers and over 2,600 items already pinned for your support.

JUNGLE (ZOO) ANIMALS + EXCELLENCE
Are you ready for some serious early childhood EXCELLENCE? These images are 'hot' off of my memory card from just yesterday. It has been a road-trip sort of weekend. I had the opportunity to speak for ACSI in Chesapeake, VA. The event took place in the midst of an incredible ECE building, We gathered together at the Greenbrier Christian Academy.
Walking into the preschool commons, I was greeted with these three amazing 'decorated' classroom doors. Currently the program is doing an "Around-the-World" theme. I learned at the end of the day, that the teachers change their door decorations in response to the season and or their theme. I also learned that this is the second year for these beauties to be used (and hence the lamination -- making them glorious from year-to-year.)
I knew that you'd want to have a close up of each animal's "face"....... so I was focused in my photo taking, on your behalf. ENJOY! Be certain to look at the eyelashes from animal to animal. These are even given a three dimensional effect. Such attention to detail!
If you're brand new here, you don't realize my affection and enthusiasm for all things giraffe. {My second picture book is entitled "Tall Giraffe" and is base on the original song for children that I wrote by that title.} I presented my two break out workshops in the very commons area outside of these classrooms! Imagine how THRILLED I was to see this GLORIOUS creature.
Of course I had to pose in my giraffe costume with such a perfect backdrop.
Now take a look at the other two brilliant completed projects.
Here are a few more glimpses of goodies around their rooms.
These headband animal crowns are absolutely classic!
You'll want to go back to take a look at all of those ideas.
The first article is at this click and includes the monkey decorated door below.
Would you be a sweetheart and pin from this article?
That's the way that folks 'find' me for the first time!
Thanks!!!
I now have 145,000 followers at Pinterest.
Plus this weekend I clicked over to my first thousand followers at Instagram!
Mom. I put this together and know that you'll appreciate it, too!
Welcome back to my ongoing little mini-series of classroom doors and bulletin boards with the occasional showcase and mural tossed in. These beauties are from my day up in Taylor, Michigan.
How brilliant is this 'bucket-filling' concept for Teacher Appreciation Week? The big bucket is on the door into their teacher's lounge. Here's a close-up of a few of the drops filling the bucket. Words of thanks. Words of appreciation. Words of gratitude. LUV LUV LUV LUV LUV it!!
The trick of making an Author-Illustrator school visit AND getting material for such a blog post is to have three things: a few minutes in between program presentation-performances, sufficient memory card space and enough battery power for one's camera!!! Every now and then the stars align and VOILA!
Down the hallway this delight caught my eye!!
How important is this next one? It's the first 'building-wide' bulletin board I've ever noticed that is designed to celebrate the writing within the whole building!!! KUDOS! Five stars!! There are submissions displayed from the littles all way through to the bigs! LUV it!!

Now a little time machine: speaking of filling your bucket...... I've had a couple of earlier posts that have included those visuals. Here's a bulletin board from my two day residency in Clyde OH's Main Street Elementary. Of course I LUV every one of my invitations into schools, but when its my third or fourth visit over a decade of years, I may have a tad bit of partiality.
Just being in their new building amid old friends filled my bucket!
If your site is into the bucket filling metaphor, you simply owe it to yourself to click back in time to this previous post from my visit to a Tampa, FL site of kindergarten kiddos. Not only did they have individual children's buckets-of-craftivity decorated on their classroom door, they had an entire system of 'library book pockets' with notes being left inside to encourage kindness and cooperation. [Click right here to go back to that earlier article.]

There's a lot here to inspire your creations for the years ahead. I hope that you're enjoying walking alongside my adventures down the hallways of this past school year! Would you be kind and pin this image of the collage below? It will bring my work additional visibility -- while you help out a peer looking for an inspiration. THANKS!
I realize that you may just be popping through from Pinterest and have never heard of me. I'll conclude with a favorite YouTube video shot on Long Island.
Let me share just a glimmer of one of my Author Illustrator School Visits.
This group of 330 kindergarten children created the most colossal bulletin board of all time in response to my first picture book, "You're Wonderful." Enjoy a rousing presentation of my original children's song "Glad I'm at School Today."
