Field of Lupine
After over a dozen summers up here, we just discovered a field of lupine, in all of it's glory. We noticed it when we first returned to our wonderland, but after a twelve hour drive somehow stopping to take pictures when we were within a dozen miles of our destination just didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense. So finally we got the motorcycle out of it's seasonal mothballs and went in search of the tall beauties. Alas, we had waited a tad too long and they were just past-peak. There was still enough color to make the jaunt worth our while.
We were first introduced to these gorgous gems on our honeymoon up in Maine. We were there during the last week of June and field after field were covered with the full range of colors from white thru pinks all the way through to the deepest of the purples. Just seeing these blooms brought back the sweetest of memories.
