Chihuly B'day Inspiration
When you're given the opportunity to choose exactly what you want to do on your birthday, who could possibly resist the chance to choose an afternoon at an art museum? Our local Columbus Art Museum is currently hosting an amazing exhibit of art glass spun under the guidance of veteran artist Chihuly and his studio of glass-blowers from the northwest. As a family, we had become appreciators of his ability thru his years of association with our Conservatory. So with a rainy winter day and the opportunity to explore we headed downtown to his talents in a new location.
The part of the exhibit that I found equally as fascinating are his inspirations. The museum had an enormous display of Chihuly's own collection of native woven blankets -- displayed as an ENORMOUS 'quilt' of colors & design, displayed together along a very, long wall. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it!!
