Must Come Down!!
It took until the third trip down the mountain's side, until everyone was acclimated to the fun and eager to ride those slides at full throttle. Look at that last trip -- everyone's hair is standing on end with excitment. Oh YEAH!! The learning curve of alpine slides: three trips.
What Goes Up............
We load up their RV, camper VWvan and head out to the foothills, passing the Red Rocks area and on to Golden, Colorado. The fellows quickly pick a partner and board the ski lift to be taken to the crest. I blink my eyes a couple of times and before you can whistle a tune, they come racing back down on their alpine slides.
Boy, BoyS, BOYS!!
After our recombobulation, we arrived efficiently in the greater-Denver area to be greeted by the now six year old Ewan, about to embark on kindergaten out their back door and across the sidewalk to Blue Heron Elementary. Once we arrived at the house, we were delighted to be introduced to our newest bundle of blue, six WEEK old Duncan. You can see how gentle Ewan is as he holds Duncan. While all this is great, it's when you stir two year old Finn into the mix, that you have a true testosterone trio. Finn is in adoration of all things "ball" -- hoop ball, bat-ball, hockeyball: you name it, if it has a ball, it's Finn's first language. Ewan is still a car-man..... since he was the tiniest of tots. So much fun to see their individual personalities in full bloom. We have enough time to get happily re-acquainted and up-to-date, all while receiving plenty of hugs and giggling like wild.
Recombobulation
We made it safely to Milwaukee airport, got our baggage checked and through security without incident. As we were getting our shoes back on and everything sorted out, when Allen noticed the signage overhead. I promise. This is the actual sign once you are thru the TSA security. No photo-shopping needed (not that I would know how.) LOL. It's interesting to consider that there can possibly be a sense of humor in national travel these days.
Farewell Door County
Now it's time to take our western extravaganza journey to heart. Dinner with friends @ the English Inn and then away we gooooooooooooooo.
Earlier this Week
Some moving weather creates great clouds..... which contributes to a lovely sunset. Cue the sailboat. Lights, camera, action. Nice effect. Now get packed and ready to leave for Denver!!
