100 Days & Throwback Thursday FREEBIES!

FREEBIE THURSDAY: 100 Days Song in Mp3! FREE 2/6!

"100 Days" Family Homework Project via RainbowsWithinReach

Welcome! If you're here in 'real' time (on February 6th) I have a happy little surprise for you as a thanks for visiting my blog. I have been invited by two brilliant masterminds of the blogosphere to join them for their weekly 'Throwback Thursday' project. They GIVE a typically-paid-product to their regular readers for FREE as a gesture of goodwill, for a period of 24 hours.

I'll introduce them in a minute, because I'm quite certain you'll want to conclude your reading here by hopping through to their blogs and scooping up their gifts of the week. When my buddies asked if I'd like to get involved I realized that I had a 'perfect' digital product for this exact time of year. My "100 Days" song!

I'm a music-lady, morphed into an author-illustrator of picture books. I travel the country making school visits and speaking at conferences. This week I've done some of both! I just got to give the keynote for SDE's "Kindergarten/PreK Conference" in San Marcos, TX. From there I traveled on to New Braunfels and gave presentations to the Kinders, Firsties and Super Seconds. We sang together. We danced! We read. We laughed! I was there on their 99th day of school, only because they had just had a snow day the week earlier.

These beautiful 'homework' displays for ALL things 100
were on display in the hallways.
All in anticipation of THE 100th day!

So now that you've been inspired by all of these projects, let me share all the good news!

Just a reminder: I am SO grateful for every supportive piece of feedback entered at my TpT store. Would you please leave your feedback in 'real time' as you download it? Once it reverts to a paid product you won't be able to leave your comment.

Not only will you get their free stuff, if you continue to follow their Thursday Throwback series, you might get to "meet" someone new and want to follow his or her store, too.  How great is that?!!!

Here are the masterminds of this project.

so pop over to their blogs next for additional goodies!

100 Day Party Celebration

100th DAY CELEBRATION TIME! IDEAS GALORE!!
100 Day Celebration RoundUP at RainbowsWithinReach

Get out your party hats and glitter!!! We're getting ready for the BIGGEST party of the year! WELCOME!! I've got some new ideas and inspiration to share.

100 Days of School! It's a PARTY! Projects and inspiration at RainbowsWithinReach

100 DAY PARTY PLANNER!
How close is your countdown, {or is it count-UP} getting to your 100th day celebration? I know many are getting tantalizingly close and others are further and further 'delayed' due to all of the weather cancellations to the calendar. Whatever your situation, I have some inspiration to share today.

In my travels as "music-lady, author/illustrator woman' I get to make a lot of school visits during the year and I capture as many photos as possible during my travels. Here are some from my memory card over the last year. I've been waiting to pull them together to share!

Isn't this first day-of-school goal what it's all about? Here's the evidence that Melanie wants to learn to count to 100!

"I want to learn to count to 100"

Time marches on. The days add up: stacking up one on top of the other. Then before you know it? We've made it all the way to the 100th! AND it is time for a party!!! Let's pull out all the stops!

There's literally nothing better than a school milestone adorned with a photograph. Whether it is a holiday ornament or a hand-colored "100." You simply can not go wrong with inserting the student's photo!

The former elementary school art teacher in me rejoices over these next anticipatory self portraits. These kinder-kiddos have been asked to create a forcasted portait of themselves as they hit the milestone of turning 100 YEARS old! These are just too dear for words!

I can just imagine this group reconvening on their collective 100th Year for a reunion. I can envision that they will all play canasta together and have a big cake! I swear I saw a couple of these 100 year olds at church just last Sunday. I KNOW I saw some of that bauble jewelry! LUV LUV LUV it!!

Next up are some creative ways that kinder-kids have combined the numerals "1-O-O" to make imagined creations. What a great way to stretch those creative engineering skills. Think outside of the box!

Last Year about this time I did a RoundUP of all the inspiration I had seen up to that point.
You SERIOUSLY must click back for all of those bulletin board ideas!

Just in case you don't have time to click back to last year's article, I'll insert this brilliant idea here, too.
It is one of the 'most pinned' images of my entire blog!
Send a baggie home and ask for 100 items!
Compare and contrast: weight, density = SCIENCE!!

I have written a song called "100 Days" to add to the festive parties from north to south and east to west. It is available in digital download format over at Teachers Pay Teachers. The chorus includes counting by 5's to one hundred and the big ending has counting by 10's..... with an Elvis Presley 'feel' throughout.

Under the category of 'additional resources' I have been pinning ideas for your support under a pinboard dedicated to the celebration of the 100th day. There are oodles of resources here.

If you've made it this far and you're actually READING..... then you need to go over to the blog, "Classy Mommy" because she has a RoundUP of the ULTIMATE guide to FREEBIES for the 100th Day.  You'll find the pin on my pinboard, but I thought you'd want the direct link to save you a step!

In real time I am in Texas!
Just flew out for fun in El Campo & Houston!
The sky was so incredible outside my window.
*I made you this little reminder as a thank you.

I got to spend the day with Cheryl of "Crayons & Curls" blogging fame! Despite the excitement brought on by the winter weather in southern Texas and a two hour delay for ice-in-the-forecast.... the showS did indeed go on. I was able to present 5, yes FIVE presentations to their building filled with PreK, K and Firsties ONLY! Cheryl is the sweetest person you're likely to meet.

Meeting my cyber-friends, that have lived in my computer..... for years...... for the first time?
PRICELESS!!!

***By all means, please pin from this article.
That's the way that people 'find' me and I'm so grateful for every pin.

COUNTDOWN: Counting Days in School

photo of: Countdown Cleverness at RainbowsWithinReach

C-O-U-N-T-D-O-W-N..............

Have you begun? Have you started an official countdown?
Do you know how many more Mondays you'll be going to school?
After the 100th Day Party it really, truly is all 'downhill' from there!

photo of: Counting the Days in School System (with straws) via RainbowsWithinReach

Thought I'd pull all of these systems for tracking the days-in-school into one spot. Which is your favorite? That probably depends on the maturity of your students. The more kinesthetic and visual -- the better in my book. The one above is from a FL kindergarten room and the next was in a Buckeye kinder class.

This next set of paper clip chains are from West Palm Beach and Mrs. Hake's room. Don't ya LUV how the hundred group is tied together? Yup. That's a party.

This final tally mark chart was obviously earlier this year. It was on display while I was in Texas. That doesn't seem all that long ago, but I guess in retrospect, it was quite some time back. The 'math' facts are insightful and obviously the work of more mature students.

Do you remember last month when I made a school visit to Greg of  Kindergarten Smorgasboard fame?

photo of: RainbowsWithinReach meets Kindergarten Smorgasboard
Well he's sharing an idea on his blog that is just so brilliant and one I know you'll have fun replicating.
It's the countdown of the ABCs. If you still have 26 days left, you're in luck. Start with Z and zebras and move backwards down to letter A and apples!

How have I never heard of this fun review?
YEAH new tool in the toolbox!

Since we're all about the counting here, I'll help you out with the flash-back link to this year's 100th Day RoundUP as you may find something there that you can adapt in those goodies.
