You're Wonderful, Indeed!!

That first photo captures me in the midst of the delicate art of directing the participants thru the sign language to support my book, while singing it's song, while using a remote control 'clicker' to advance the power point slides of my quilted illustrations. Whew. Talk about 'multi-tasking' ......my brain is always in over-drive during moments like this, but somehow it all works out. That even looks like a genuine smile in the midst of juggling my technology. I've come a long way, baby. I've come a long way.

Jumping Jiminy Jamboree!

Alliteration alert!! Alliteration alert!! These pics capture the second half of our jumping jamboree..... everyone here is "Freezing frozen fantastically." An enormous big thanks to Bill Johnson, of ZB for taking these great action shots. (I forgot to get a picture of Bill & my polka dots together, crummy buttons.) This was our first meeting and we've already started making exciting plans for the future.

Do you like my skirt?? The crazy idea, to clean out our closet in earnest, netted my 'finding' this gem, folded neatly and hidden away behind layers of other nonsense. It was such a happy delight, to unearth my ol' friend and return her to active duty. Rock on with your polka dotted pattern on the bias, colorful happiness, festive, smile inducing attitude, little skirt. Welcome back.

45th Bloomsburg Reading

You know that you've "arrived" when you follow the campus map's pink highlighted trail, to arrive at a little circle of exclusive parking spots and find your name on the safety tripod -- announcing your welcome to the world!! Wow. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Allen did all of the driving for this adventure and as he pulled into the spot, coaxed me with, "Get your camera out, I KNOW you're gonna want a picture of that!"

Let me tell you folks. The Bloomsburg Reading Conference wins my top award of treating presenters like esteemed dignatary rock stars. Every detail was considered, thought thru and enacted. I was assigned a graduate assistant for the day and my bubbly Amy was superlative beyond description. She helped me thru technological issues and every other conceivable hiccup, keeping me on the correct timetable for my three presentations and my two book signing time slots up at the exhibit area and where to meet the other presenters for lunch and and and and.....Wow. Wow-Wow. It was a full day and with her direction and guidance it went flawlessly.

Pictured above are a glimpse of the classroom teachers, reading specialists, teachers of children with special needs, reading interventionists, children's librarians, administrators, and lovers of reading in general. This audience of participants was certainly my most 'diverse-in-their-titles' in years. Wow!

Inn at Turkey Hill, PA

Tomorrow is the 45th Annual Bloomsburg University Reading Conference. I'm so excited to be a part of such an exciting program. I get to be one of the 'featured speakers' tomorrow!! Take a look at where they have plunked us!! Is this too good to be true? It's a Bed and Breakfast Inn. Our room is just delightful. (Dearest hubby Allen did all of the driving and will do all of the heavy lifting tomorrow..... he did get in a round of golf this afternoon -- so it hasn't been all work for him.)
