C-O-U-N-T-D-O-W-N..............
Have you begun? Have you started an official countdown?
Do you know how many more Mondays you'll be going to school?
After the 100th Day Party it really, truly is all 'downhill' from there!
Thought I'd pull all of these systems for tracking the days-in-school into one spot. Which is your favorite? That probably depends on the maturity of your students. The more kinesthetic and visual -- the better in my book. The one above is from a FL kindergarten room and the next was in a Buckeye kinder class.
Paper Clip Chains Counting the Days in School |
This next set of paper clip chains are from West Palm Beach and Mrs. Hake's room. Don't ya LUV how the hundred group is tied together? Yup. That's a party.
Day #126 on Paper Clips |
This final tally mark chart was obviously earlier this year. It was on display while I was in Texas. That doesn't seem all that long ago, but I guess in retrospect, it was quite some time back. The 'math' facts are insightful and obviously the work of more mature students.
Do you remember last month when I made a school visit to Greg of Kindergarten Smorgasboard fame?
Well he's sharing an idea on his blog that is just so brilliant and one I know you'll have fun replicating.
It's the countdown of the ABCs. If you still have 26 days left, you're in luck. Start with Z and zebras and move backwards down to letter A and apples!
How have I never heard of this fun review?
YEAH new tool in the toolbox!
Since we're all about the counting here, I'll help you out with the flash-back link to this year's 100th Day RoundUP as you may find something there that you can adapt in those goodies.
