EXCELLENCE! Commitment. Dedication.
What an amazing transition.
This past Sunday our church up-north hosted a choir from the inner-city of Milwaukee. Prior to the amazing choral gift from these choristers, we were greeted by Henry Tyson, Superintendent of St. Marcus School. He shared the vision and dreams that are taking place for nearly 700 students -- in contrast to the truth of the failures of other school systems. Mr. Tyson concluded his remarks with the simple statement, "I invite you to come to our school and see for yourself."
Guess what's between Sister Bay, WI and Elgin, IL? You guessed it. St. Marcus School. Milwaukee.
The artwork around the building was terrific.
My regular readers know how much the Art in a building means to me.
The bulletin boards throughout the building demonstrate the religious foundation of the school.
Here are a few of the bulletin boards in the hallways -- as I zapped about.
In the 24 hours between my email offering to visit and my actual arrival at the school door, we were able to get all of the kindergarten children together to read, sing and sign my three picture books.
Can you tell that we had some fun?
Hopefully you can see from just the glorious bulletin boards throughout the building, what an amazing place -- offering amazing opportunities I have been graced to experience. St. Marcus is like the set of a movie-on-excellence. As soon as I can get to a reliable internet connection I'll attempt to show you some more insight from this amazing program.
