45th Bloomsburg Reading
You know that you've "arrived" when you follow the campus map's pink highlighted trail, to arrive at a little circle of exclusive parking spots and find your name on the safety tripod -- announcing your welcome to the world!! Wow. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Allen did all of the driving for this adventure and as he pulled into the spot, coaxed me with, "Get your camera out, I KNOW you're gonna want a picture of that!"
Let me tell you folks. The Bloomsburg Reading Conference wins my top award of treating presenters like esteemed dignatary rock stars. Every detail was considered, thought thru and enacted. I was assigned a graduate assistant for the day and my bubbly Amy was superlative beyond description. She helped me thru technological issues and every other conceivable hiccup, keeping me on the correct timetable for my three presentations and my two book signing time slots up at the exhibit area and where to meet the other presenters for lunch and and and and.....Wow. Wow-Wow. It was a full day and with her direction and guidance it went flawlessly.
Pictured above are a glimpse of the classroom teachers, reading specialists, teachers of children with special needs, reading interventionists, children's librarians, administrators, and lovers of reading in general. This audience of participants was certainly my most 'diverse-in-their-titles' in years. Wow!
