CHRISTMAS BULLETIN BOARDS + DECORATED DOORS!
We haven't even carved the turkey and people are here searching for my previous year's RoundUPs of my ever growing collection of Holiday Bulletin Boards!
Let me make your life a little easier and bring them together here for you! {A reminder to newbies: I take these photos during my author/illustrator school visits across the country. I'm grateful to talented teachers willing to share!}

Here are some earlier inspirations!
I've had a whirlwind of fun making my author-illustrator school visits recently.
Are you ready for some A-MAZ-ING bulletin boards?
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS BULLETIN BOARDS:
HERE WE COME!
First up: A floor-to-ceiling wall-display.
Way beyond a Christmas bulletin board.
FLOOR TO CEILING -- I tell you!
This was so absolutely ENORMOUS that I couldn't get a photo of the entire thing from any angle what-so-ever, but I think with these first four pictures you kinda-sorta get the idea. The display has an amazing Christmas tree with chains and lights and presents and people and snowmen and snow and flying sleighs and more trees and pines and a blazing sunshine and football players and airplanes. Well you get the idea.
Here's the close-up of the Christmas Trees on the actual bulletin board section.
You know that I LUV LUV LUV the three dimensional aspect of these trees!
Here's another GIGANTIC: floor-to-ceiling 'display.
This one is specifically for
"Polar Express"
and as you can see was on the classroom wall.
It was used as a backdrop for parents to observe reader's theater in action.

Santa Claus Sleigh Bulletin Board with Student Presents |
Here's a 'writing' bulletin board of all the possibilities and insight for when Santa's arrival goes awry. What a hoot. What an awesome public display for writing.... and you know how much I like writing!
"Saving Santa" Bulletin Board of Writing |
Here's a whole bulletin board of a variety of simple holiday art projects created by the 'after-school' program at
Scioto Darby Elementary School.
Fireplaces with fires glowing:
and personalized stockings.
AND Strings of lights.......
Look at this one!
Santa comes in all flavors.
How awesome are those snowflakes?
Speaking of snowflakes..... how about a blizzard?
In every shade of the rainbow!
Here's another UBBER mantle of amazing stockings hung with care.
Each of these wrapping paper 'gifts' conceals the writing beneath the wrapped facade. What a fun way to dress up a writing exercise.
"Giving the Gift of a Good Book" |
These next symmetrical tree creations are the backdrop for their own writing exercise surrounding each student's Christmas family traditions. What a glorious variety of trees. So much fun. I'm such a BIG fan of the decorations, too!
"Christmas Traditions" |
I wonder how many links were in the chain to begin with?
The countdown has gotten underway in earnest at this point.
How much fun is this project?
"Countdown to Christmas" Chains |
It's time to wind up these festivities.
We'll conclude with a few peeks at a global theme of:
"Christmas Around the World."
"Christmas Around the World" Bulletin Board Theme |
First up let's start with a classroom door decoration for 'Germany.'
Am I THE most FORTUNATE person ever? I get to do what I LUV: share my work of songs and books and see the evidence of so much joy and delight. What an amazing collection -- don't ya think? This is evidence of the hard work, dedication, and effort put in by teachers to brighten the lives of the students they teach. Special thanks to Scioto Darby and Etna Elementary in central Ohio for your warm welcome this week.
Here's a close-up of those stars lighting up the tree above.
These next beauties are from a premiere Preschool right here in Vero Beach, FL! They provide my happy visits!
Now take a look at this 'Gingerbread House' that is on the classroom door.
Each of the windows opens to portray a set of Gingerbread friends.
You'll see the detail just below the overview photo.
Take a peek inside the gingerbread house to see the happy little ginger people! How clever with the photo faces!
So let's get all four of those decorated Christmas doors into one image for your files!
Do you prefer the horizontal version? Or........
Or......This is why I'm so in LUV with Picmonkey!
Just as easily I can manipulate the images into their own 'door' version!
Each of the students created their own 'stocking' of wishlist items.
The goodies were cut from ads and magazines.
Here's a close-up of a 'building' enthusiast.
I think this is an architect in the making.
Those are the newest 'goodies' in my collection!
If you arrived via Pinterest you'll want to pop through to see the pattern for these glittery handprint angels made from a paper plate. They were under construction in this same center. They are drying and awaiting the photo-angelic faces final detail! Go see! You know ya wanna!
Hope that you have time to incorporate your favorite idea!
By all means, I'm appreciative of your pin.
There's always next year: wink-wink!
Would you be a holiday elf and pin this image?
I took the photo at my daughter's house and then uploaded it over at
for the graphic head line embellishment fun!
Have you played over at CANVA?
I created the image above for FREE!
I created the image above for FREE!
They are not quite as intuitive to me as Picmonkey,
BUT THEY SAVE YOUR IMAGES!
HUGE plus if you want to revisit/edit your work,
even weeks or months later!
If you happen to teach in FLORIDA, I am searching for some schools to add to my calendar!
Have guitar will travel!
Please let your palm-tree hugger friends know that we have relocated!
In case you are really a planner!
That's my RoundUP of "Winter Themed" Decorated Doors.
