Give Thanks it's Almost Turkey Time

It's time! It's TURKEY time! 

It's time for a Turkey RoundUP of ideas for giving thanks. 

How are your plans for Thanksgiving progressing?

Let's get this party started with a Thanksgiving bulletin board. 

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. 

Here's some inspiration from my recent travels. 

The cornucopia bulletin board above was on display at the ABC Academy. 

Everything's bigger in Texas! 

One classroom had the individual projects hanging from the ceiling.

The third room had the individual projects displayed on their bulletin board. 

Here's a turkey painting from the M.D. Anderson display at the Houston airport.

Here's a 'close-up' of a Thanksgiving themed classroom door. 

Those are the teacher's turkey painted hand prints below. 

Next you can see the entire PreKindergarten classroom door. 

The PreK hand painted turkeys dance across the paper covered entrance. 

Speaking of the simplicity of the traditional hand print turkey...... 

here's a version with a delightful little poem accompaniment. 

This came as a card last year from my Wonder-Boy, 

with the rhyme on the inside of the card.

And from across the country............. 

here's what those painted gobblers look like in Colorado. 

Presenting children's art to the world is all about the matting and frame. 

Even the simplest of pieces take on significance when presented with flair. 

This has got to be the cutest 'tubby-turkey' that I've ever seen. Each of the feathers is the name of a child in the classroom. Makes me smile over and over again. I can imagine all sorts of possibilities for variations on this particular theme! When in doubt? Keep it simple. 

Also thought that it would be helpful to have some flashbacks from this time last year. Enjoy these delights from years passed. If you've spent much time here at all with me, you're probably aware how much I appreciate 'open-ended' art projects. Take a look at these next two different sets of turkey feathers! LUV LUV LUV 'em!!!

I thought it might be helpful for my pinning friends to combine the two images for your ease of comparing the two ideas. Similar in their goals, yet slightly different outcomes. YES! I'm grateful for every, single pin!

All of these various images are from my Author/Illustrator school visits. 

I work hard at documenting what I see so on my travels, so that I can share it here with my wider cyber family of teacher friends. 

Any holiday craft project built upon a paper plate is certain to be replicated.

Time to wrap up this RoundUP. Let me conclude with one of my all time favorite bulletin board ideas. If you look closely you will see that each feather has been 'decorated' and colored by the student who is enumerating their thankfulness. What a crowning exercise to help little ones express their appreciation.
