ALL ABOUT ME!!
Here are some ideas to help get everyone inspired for all of those back-to-school lessons that feature an "All About Me" unit to start the year. I've included several different 'media' to help you bring some new enthusiasm to your projects. Take a close up gander!
These first beauties were created in Indiana by preschoolers. One big bag. One small one. Goodies for the embellishments that personalize. Look at these hairdos! Trace the hands. Trace the feet!!
These self portraits were on display in a Florida kindergarten hallway, down in South Daytona Beach. These have to be some of my all time favorites. LUV LUV LUV the way that these paintings turned out!
These are buckeye first graders on parade!
There are some real fashion statements in this crowd.
Now let's return to a PreSchool bulletin Board. Comparing heights of students from the same class. This was a bulletin board out in the hall to 'welcome' friends every morning. Clever back-to-school idea!
These next series of bodies were traced at a site serving preschool children with special needs. I was especially fascinated with the self perception of "hair" in the first/larger self-portrait below. LUV me some big hair! What wonderful energy captured in this life-size image.
These next images are slightly more sophisticated glass fusings and were created under Joanna Davis art-room instruction at Garden Elementary in southern Florida. She is one of our contributing authors over at PreK+K Sharing every month and shares simple ideas there monthly.
This next set of self-portraits as poetry came from my recent round-up of
a gazillion ideas related to children's names.
Click back to this link to see all of those ideas -- which are certainly relate to self-portraits.
