Stand-Up Comedians

Two of my own personal favorite artists from last year, have returned & were painting back-to-back, right near the swim dock. I came upon the twosome as they were just setting up their easels and sizing up the possibilities. What a dynamic duo. Lori Beringer & Colin Page. Where else can you get a painting symposium AND a stand-up act?? Colin's contribution, "Did ya hear about the two peanuts that were out for a walk? One was a-salted." Cha-chinga. These are seriously two amazingly giving individuals. They both paint and speak their process at the same time, so it truly is a course -- just to stand next to their elbow and listen in on their decision-making process..... to stand between the two of them is something else all together!! Don't tell them, 'cuz they might consider the idea, but it would be worthy the purchase of a ticket to have such a novel and invigorating opportunity.

Last year Colin had just finished an early morning painting here in Sister Bay of the ice cream & pizza house. I told him that painting was going to go far. We had quite a conversation about it. Seriously. Drumroll. It is his painting that is the cover of this year's festival magazine!!! Man, do I have a good eye! Last year Colin won the People's Choice Award. He's come back to us from his home in Maine, by way of a Plein Air festival in Hawaii! Lori continues to build a fanclub & following here due to her engaging teaching style at numerous local center due to her Wisconsin roots.
