Little Teeny Fawn-Baby

While riding along on my bike, headed up to the intersection with County Road ZZ (yes, it's like alphabet soup up here) a doe went leaping across the country road -- in like two amazing bounds. Then right behind, skittering down the slight slope to the road, came this little weeee one. She got to the asphalt and came to an abrupt halt, turned around and went dashing right back up into the hillside's grass and promptly tuckered out, layed down for an immediate nap.

After this adventure, we went to pick up the motorcycle, stored for the winter season. Standing right beside the road on County Q, stood a mama doe in the act of nursing her little wonder. This was more wildlife 'au natural' in a two hour span than I saw all of season, so close up. We've also seen about a half dozen wild turkeys in this first week. Keeping our eyes open for the bear, rumored to be hanging out in the swampy shore area further north and east.
